Character

Character Name: Wolfram von Bielefelt
Canon: Kyou Kara Maou!
Canon Point: Post-Novel 17~18; about six years later
Age: 82 in "Mazoku years", which is equivalent to 15~16 going by the initial story, but as Yuuri ages through the story, Wolfram's age reflects Yuuri's in canon years, and Yuuri eventually reaches 17+. Wolfram's age is overall implied at numerous points to be a direct parallel to Yuuri's going by human years even if Wolfram's overall "experienced" more Mazoku years in full, with a longer memory.
* There is an official doujinshi side-story taking place in a futuristic AU where Wolfram and Yuuri are adults, and Greta is aged to "12" from canonical 10, then Yuuri is implied older by the story's final sections; Wolfram will thus be aged up similarly, brought in around 23+, as the novels are currently unfinished and Wolfram is being brought in from an AU continuation of the Novels canon.
* At one point of the anime, Yuuri also visualizes in a fantasy an older Greta in a wedding dress, with Greta's face being clearly seen, being married away, holding an unknown "man" by the arm.
* Thus, Greta will be lightly aged up to about 16, but before this kind of wedding or any other major lore-altering significant event{s} can happen.
Height: 165cm or 5'5" (around same as Yuuri, but canonically Wolfram's legs are stated to be longer)
Season: Summer
Flower: Yellow Rose
Network UN: lordwolframvonbielefelt

"Lord von Bielefelt is like the sunlight.
Making people want to run together with them, {making it hard to not notice them}."
- Yuuri Shibuya (summarized) {Novel #9, Chapter #6}

(/"[...] Sunlight suits Lord Bielefelt, making people want to run together with them.")
- alternate / more literal translation

{Canon Profile Details}:

Birthday: Spring
{ * "Spring" in Shin Makoku only actually consists of February, March, & April.
Most of the fandom seems to headcanon Wolfram's birthday around March,
so I tend to do the same, if picking a different range of days }
Hair Color: Honey Blond (in Novels art)
Eye Color: Emerald Green "that reminds you of the bottom of a lake" according to Yuuri
Weight: Unknown / Secret (but Wolfram's hips are canonically larger than Yuuri's)
Likes: Yuuri, art (+specifically painting; Yuuri describes a "Cubism" style; can also skecth well), reading (+romance novels/literature of Shin Makoku particularly, has also read Anissina's "Poison Lady" featuring herself as a main character children's novels to keep literacy sharp while travelling longterm), reciting poetry, wine (+wine tasting in general - Wolfram is really good at holding alcohol canonically and can drink multiple drinks while remaining semi-sober/still protecting Yuuri), practicing violin (Wolfram only knows the "Happy Birthday" song from Yuuri's world, so that's mainly what you will hear especially if you find Wolfram on your character's birthday. However, Wolfram may find means of learning more as time goes on! This is as of [+post-] July 2021~ timeframe in officially published Twitter short stories based in Novelsverse.)
One of Four Forbidden Box Associations: Translated originally as "Inferno of the Tundra", I may instead opt to refer to it as the Fire elemental box in a more general sense, as otherwise "The Permafrost Flame {of Jigoku}" might be a more accurate translation, but could read awkwardly
Box Key: Wolfram's [Literal/Physical, not just "soul"] Heart
{as of Novel #17 near ending; confirmed directly by novels!Shinou as well}
Weaknesses: Seasickness {and motion by travel otherwise that may mimick it; anime had Wolfram all right with plane and car travel in Yuuri's Earth, but when captured in Shin Makoku at one point, the horse-drawn carriage not under their control made Wolfram feel equally sick} (yet manageable with medicine); short temper (under control after the main arc); jealousy (under control after Seisakoku arc in the Novels); having magical power limited intentionally may cause Wolfram to feel weak{er} in Shin Makoku or Yuuri's Earth specifically
Singing Voice style: Tenor
Rank: Engaged to/Fiances with Yuuri; Personal Retainer of the Maou {Yuuri}; of importance to the land of Bielefelt; trained soldier of Shin Makoku & the Maou (+that may be called upon by Bielefelt)
{* "This country is divided into this area directly controlled by the Maoh, and territories of the ten nobles who obey the Maoh. Von is attached to their surnames. In Günter's case, he governs the Kleist region of the ten nobles so he is Lord von Kleist. 'Lord' is added to a name, because in an emergency they are the ones called to go to the battlefield. Basically the nobles are a military rank. Men and women are the same. Those who are prepared to fight will be invited to do so when they're adults." - Conrad to Yuuri, Chapter 3 of Novel 1}

{The story that implies them aging, but it's very official AU}
[* The ending is not the seemingly planned ending for the novels, but could have been considered official at one point of the planning stages, before a significant event involving Conrad was changed from the original plan due to editor requests despite the author's disappointment on the matter. In this ending, Ken Murata, Yuuri's acquaintance from school who would eventually become a close friend, appears suddenly before Yuuri "working" in a professional career in the human world while older.
The ending is somewhat heavy emotionally or angsty,
but left open-ended and rather ambiguous as to what actually {if even "can"} "happens after".]
- in which Yuuri has a vividly intense "dream" or "vision" of an aged-up "Yuuri" and ""Wolfram"" in the future alongside ""Greta"",

Characterizations I Tend to Keep from Anime:
{Especially if they were Novels based/based on canon Novels scenes}:

Yuuri officially adopts Greta and Wolfram appears to declare she'll now have two fathers
Wolfram's reactions to the Maou {1st is Part 3; 2nd is Part 2, when the Maou first begins to acknowledge Wolfram more directly/Prominently, deliberately saving him}
How Wolfram interacts and plays among children along with reading books in the human world {Part 2}
Wolfram thinks white roses suit Yuuri but then holds up prominently a red rose without saying anything as well {Part 2}
Greta helping to nurse Wolfram back to health after Wolfram's overcome/manipulated by miasma {Part 3}
Wolfram and Greta communicating without words; Greta able to understand Wolfram via simple touch/actions {Part 3}
Greta meets Beatrice, a human girl who Yuuri met+helped earlier on, while Yuuri and Wolfram watch over from afar on their horses
Yuuri's description of Greta as his child and description of Shin Makoku to Saralegui {Part 3}
How Wolfram handles Yuuri being gone even semi long-term; heavily implied as sending messages in the forms of flowers with everyone else & Greta, all of whom also sent the "Beautiful Wolfram" flower along too
Wolfram accepts Shouri as 'Wolfram's family' {brother-in-law} too - Yuuri directly comments Wolfram uses the 'same logic' as when they adopted Greta - because he's Yuuri's fiancee, Shouri will eventually become his family ('when' they marry) too {Part 3}
The potential fake wedding scenario 'to deceive the enemies' as they described it in the Hajimari no Tabi game - even if this piece of 'canon' is overall unofficial to the main series, I can still see it being in-character for them to consider such a hypothetical wedding scenario if it meant genuinely protecting Shin Makoku.

Personality:

{Left: Novels, Right: Manga}

Wolfram is extremely (overall) prideful, {initially very} rash, and critical (+of Yuuri), later also showing compassionate, genuinely loving sides. Even though Wolfram's 'accidentally' engaged to Yuuri, Wolfram takes engagement very seriously and even began to develop feelings of real love for Yuuri over time. Wolfram's constantly bringing up upcoming potential marriage as a reason for why Yuuri should pay attention to Wolf. Other habits include Wolfram wearing a feminine "negligee" to bed and sharing said bed with Yuuri (later, with adopted daughter Greta), even though Wolfram has Wolf's own. However, to Wolfram, no matter which way Wolfram looks at the "feminine"-like clothing Wolf wears, the clothing styles all look gender-neutral as that's what views are generally like in Wolfram's/Shin Makoku's culture. Yuuri has a hard time understanding this initially (and appears to be dealing with possibly internalized queerphobia/homophobia), leading to much culture clashes between the two, but Yuuri slowly starts to understand Wolfram's preferences better as time goes on. Frequently Wolfram later begins to agree with Yuuri's perspectives and seems to genuinely want to "protect" Yuuri.
At a second point of the series, Wolfram also "slaps" Yuuri significantly in turn:

Wolfram is referred to canonically, multiple times, by Yuuri typically in-mind/monologues, as a "pretty boy" ("bishounen" in Japanese). It's been said he caused miraculous healings of the injured just because they laid eyes on his beauty. Despite this, Wolfram doesn't appear, at first, to have any intentions of dating anyone not his fiance - and women tend to generally not pursue Wolfram past Wolfram's looks, though they will generally agree Wolfram's extremely attractive. It's possible Wolfram only does such initially excessive actions for the attention; as Wolfram was rather spoiled by his mother growing up, who considered Wolfram "beautiful" (even naming a flower after him, as "Beautiful Wolfram"), and father as well, if to a lesser degree than Cheri.

{Gifs by Me} {Do Not Repost/Repurpose!} (ASK to Use!)

One of Wolfram's earliest shown opinions was he looked down on humans. When Yuuri arrived, he insulted Yuuri's mother as having "human" "blood", resulting in Yuuri slapping him and started the accidental engagement (a slap in Shin Makoku is the equivalent of proposing, not literal violence or intended as). In the manga, it is hinted Wolfram gained the initial dislike of humans as a result of Wolfram's father's prejudices. Wolfram even disliked Wolfram's own half-brother Conrad at first for the same reason, but after Conrad returned from Conrad's own supposed betrayal, Wolfram found that Wolfram was starting to care more for Conrad. Wolfram is shown to become more caring towards humans later on in the series in general, as well.
Greta, who is human and considers Wolfram one of Greta's two "father"s, is included when it comes to people Wolfram clearly cares strongly for.

{Right = Wolfram saving Greta's life by anime-original scenes of the 3rd anime season}
{Gifs by Me} {Do Not Repost/Repurpose!} (ASK to Use!)

Yuuri is Wolfram's important person across all versions. Wolfram's constantly trying to protect Yuuri in all versions of series. After saving Yuuri from a fall in Caloria arc, Wolfram declares, "If you 'fall', I will fall with you".

If Yuuri cares about something -- someone, Wolfram seems to attempt to care about them, too, despite initial distrust of humans.
Wolfram also seems to tolerate Yuuri's human friend, Ken Murata, even after finding out Murata was also presenting as human.
In Part 2 and Part 3 of the anime particularly, there are some instances when Wolfram appears to rely on Murata's guidance during tense situations, especially ones involving Yuuri's safety.

{Yuuri speaking semi-formally in anime-original scenes from Part 2; Wolfram watches over carefully from beside}

{one of the official anime covers from around Anime Part 2 end;
Yuuri and Wolfram both extremely proudly watching over Greta and even Beatrice.
[in the anime-original scenes, Greta learned about "Mother's Day" from Yuuri's Earth previously and wanted to make
"Father's Day" in Shin Makoku as well, specifically so Greta could celebrate Yuuri and Wolfram.}

Wolfram also cares for his own mother, Cheri aka Cacilie von Spitzweg, and his full-demon brother, Gwendal von Voltaire, even if Wolfram is subsequently bit detached from them and appears to dislike own mother spoiling Wolfram when it's excessively at length,
despite secretly initially liking some attention.
When it starts to become overbearing, Wolfram appears to push it away.

{Wolfram "wakes up" after Wolfram's Heart was stolen in the Part 2 anime-original ending lead-in.}
{Gifs by Me} {Do Not Repost/Repurpose!} (ASK to Use!)

Wolfram's mother also went on to have relationships with many people. Wolfram's brothers are his half brothers, each has a different father. Wolfram is youngest; Conrad is second eldest, Gwendal is eldest. Tensions Wolfram had with Conrad were mostly due to fact that Conrad was half demon; Conrad's father was human. Meanwhile, Gwendal puts up a tough front and initially greatly disliked humans (especially Conrad's father), and does not often show much affection to brothers or many, but has a soft spot for Wolfram, Yuuri and others closer to him - shown on several occasions since Yuuri's arrival.

{Gwendal gives Wolfram a part of Conrad's uniform/Wolfram screams
/openly sobs out at length when Wolfram thinks both Conrad and Yuuri might be dead}
{Gifs by Me} {Do Not Repost/Repurpose!} (ASK to Use!)

Eventually, Wolfram treats them all with respect like he does the others he cares about, even if Wolfram doesn't often admit verbally Wolfram cares, Wolfram shows that care through Wolfram's reactions and actions.

{Part 2 Ep. 8 does add some anime-original sequences too,
but clearly to illustrate a developing relation between Wolfram and Conrad,
aiming to leaning it in the more "positive" direction over time.
Cheri, Wolfram's mother, hypothizes this about the dynamic between Mazoku and humans and Mazoku's near-Immortality,
something which could hypothetically also affect Yuuri and Wolfram's relation as time went on,
as Yuuri is also part-Human -- if Wolfram and Yuuri let it, which is extremely unlikely
knowing Yuuri Shibuya's philosophies throughout the series.}

{Wolfram clarifies to Yuuri he "wouldn't cry" if/when Yuuri ever had to ""leave"" ""permanently"".}

{In Episode 10, Wolfram finally begins addressing own relation to Conrad with Yuuri}
{Gifs by Me} {Do Not Repost/Repurpose!} (ASK to Use!)

Yuuri, who also has an older brother Shouri, often can relate to Wolfram on more general Issues with their brothers, though Wolfram's sheer aversion to Conrad did pertube Yuuri at first. Yuuri tries to reason with Wolfram as early as Episode 10 in the anime, having a genuine heart-to-heart with Wolfram on the matter (and possibly causing Wolfram to realize early, deeper developing feelings for Yuuri in turn, when Wolfram reacts with a rather shocked expression at Yuuri's sheer kindness and compassion towards Wolfram).

Wolfram and Conrad's dynamic still has a long way to go from here (and Wolfram does try to deflect at the end of the scene) but it still clearly emotionally impacts Wolfram into at least trying to start to improve relations, especially when Yuuri is in earshot of them, but the dynamic between the two brothers also frequently improves when they're on their own, if more genuinely seriously with each other.

{by Episode 18 of the anime, the plot has begun to adapt the Novels canon side short story of
"The Taming of the Bearbee", but the course of the story is slightly different between versions,
as the Novels edition takes place over three days while the anime version consists of part of one.
By the anime, Wolfram seems to have realized genuine love for Yuuri,
using the word "Ai" in Japanese clearly, while in the Novels,
holds up the marriage contract Wolfram always carries around, stating, "Sign this before we die."}

{Manga Edition Timeline adapts part of that; Wolfram canonically carries around Japanese-esque
"marriage contracts" as a running gag/pun, but will usually only ever pull them out in front of Yuuri.
The gag as well is that they look very similar to Japanese marriage contracts,
however, Wolfram lives in Shin Makoku, a medieval-like place.}

{Manga Edition Timeline; Reuniting with Conrad example}

At last released chapter, "Shinou" {"The Great One", or the most important "being" of Shin Makoku's history, the original King or "Maou"} ""casually"" threatens Yuuri's safety to Wolfram upon Wolfram learning own true nature of Wolfram's heart being a "key" to one of four elemental Forbidden Boxes, Wolfram's being the box that matches with the element of Fire.
Wolfram is initially furious at Shinou's interference in their relationship, but shoves own feelings down,
knowing Wolfram will have to remain neutral to Yuuri until and only until Yuuri's to safety.
(As a result, Wolfram will be played as if initially "distancing" self from Yuuri a bit,
but deep down Wolfram still cares about Yuuri, and may frequently slip up while referring vaguely to either Yuuri, Greta, and or their dynamics between all three.)

{Gifs by Me} {Do Not Repost/Repurpose!} (ASK to Use!)
{Wolfram by the final episode of Part 2 Anime-original editions; Reuniting with Yuuri
(the anime DOES depict Wolfram crying before Yuuri 'leaves', but Yuuri doesn't turn around to see it in time;
meanwhile, as it's anime-original, it does not apply to the Novels ending specifically,
and we honestly have no real idea on if Wolfram would actually cry or how Yuuri would react to such.)
At the same time, it's clearly meant to be an extremely emotionally impacting scene in the anime's version/take.
(Murata also implies if Yuuri hadn't come back home/Looked Back at Wolfram, "the world would have been destroyed")}

{The Part 2 anime-original ending still seems to echo Wolfram's declaration in "Crossheart" regardless;
"If I were to cry, YOU could not live happily over there, right?"
"Far from it, you wouldn't be able to go back to your family.
... BECAUSE YOU'RE KIND."

".. NO FIANCE OF MINE would EVER BE that THOUGHTLESS!!!" - Anime!Wolfram}

{Gifs by Me} {Do Not Repost/Repurpose!} (ASK to Use!)

In anime-only original stories for Part 3 of the anime, a character "Elizabeth" was introduced for a significant episode, being described as Wolfram's childhood "fiancee". Rather, it was due to a mix-up in which a young Wolfram slapped Elizabeth's cheek on accident, trying to "smack" and or "catch" a butterfly in the garden that had mesmerized them both momentarily with its beauty. When Elizabeth turns up at the castle one day, Elizabeth proposes a challenge to Yuuri, to duel for the right to be Wolfram's true fiance.
In the end, they settle the manner so Wolfram remains engaged to Yuuri, and Elizabeth appears to give up, recognizing verbally that Wolfram does indeed seem to love Yuuri and even pointing it out to Wolfram.

Elizabeth will not remain in my headcanons as presented directly in the anime, but Elizabeth's concept may be re-worked for my own Novels-based headcanons - there, I highly doubt Elizabeth would be presented as a fiance from childhood going by the Novels plot as it is, but I do still like the idea of Elizabeth having been childhood acquaintances with Wolfram regardless, along with them enjoying frequenting (or hiding in) the gardens together.
That part, I will likely keep as part of Wolfram's timeline, but the entire "fiancee" plot and mix-up will be left out.

more specifically, the vague memories of Somarium and anime!Wolfram
that Wolfram once had may also at times reflect these running themes.)

Backtagging: Yes, I am always available for backtagging as long as wanted, unless we mutually agree to handwave a thread
Threadjacking: Yes, but if something extremely significant that can affect/hurt Wolfram is to happen, maybe better to poke me and ask first. Wolfram is a trained soldier, extremely skilled at combat and won't initially "go easy" on any character that seriously tries to instigate Wolfram into a fight. Context: At one point super early on in the manga, Wolfram took on an entire room of pirates at once single-handedly, etc. So Wolfram can easily take on more "average" citizens/worldhoppers but if your character is the all-powerful kind, they might be able to knock Wolfram down a notch or two with some planning.
Fourthwalling: Yes, on request/ask me; contacting by Dreamwidth messages is ok too
Mind Reading: Yes, on request/ask me; contacting by Dreamwidth messages is ok too. However, with Wolfram this will be a lot more Particular, specifically because Wolfram's had a lot of mind-manipulation type plots semi-canonically before (the anime original ending for Part 2 is extremely specific with this, having an entire mini-arc leadup about Wolfram being mind-manipulated/possessed against Wolfram's will). Wolfram is from the Novels, where it doesn't quite happen the exact same ways, but Shinou is still About & Instigating Wolfram in the final novel, soooo there is all That to consider when plotting things like this!
Touching: Yes, but Wolfram will instinctively recoil from/fight most touches if Wolfram's not familiar with you at first, unless you prove yourself to be genuinely friendly and/or respectful of Wolfram. But feel free to chip away at Wolfram's barriers! Wolfram may be a little more receptive to touch (including initiating it) the more Wolfram gets to know your character if Wolfram genuinely cares about them.
Shipping/Kissing: Please contact me privately to ask first, especially regarding kissing or surprise kisses. In Wolfram's canon point brought from, Wolfram was currently in a longterm engagement period with protagonist Yuuri Shibuya, so that will often be on Wolfram's mind should anything happen. OOCly, I can be flexible with crossover ships more specifically with characters close in {parallel} age range to Wolfram i.e. 22~23 estimated, but it's definitely better if I know your canon/character well, so please ask me! (Also, Wolfram will have a bit of an aversion to women that Wolfram does not know as well, both older and younger women. Men {and otherwise} are on extremely thin ice around Wolfram but like, you have more of a chance)
Fighting/Injury: Please contact me privately to ask/plot first! Wolfram is definitely a fighter, however, and will automatically respond if instigated into a fight, usually in self-defense first before all-out attack. If Wolfram is attacked seriously, however, and can no longer maintain on self-defense alone, Wolfram can and WILL go in for full-on attacking with an intent to either kill {if in a truly dangerous situation} or seriously harm/knock out {otherwise}.
Character Death: Please contact me privately to ask/plot before assuming I'd be ok with in-game death. If we can plot something out, and everyone's on the same page, I'm definitely much more flexible with this. Wolfram, however, will absolutely hate it and fight it every step of the way.
